In the heart of one of the largest walnut forests in the world,11,000 ha, the inhabitants of Arslanbob seasonally harvest this valuable cash crop in multigenerational camp-outs during the autumn alongside berries, medicinal herbs ,wild apples and cherry plums for jam.

Arslanbob is also a place of pilgrimage for many Uzbek Muslims who make up the majority of the village's 1500 inhabitants, despite being in Kyrgyzstan, with a culture, tradition and cuisine differing from what you may see in other parts of the country.
